892 migrants enter Croatia by 7pm – police

A total of 892 migrants had entered Croatia by 7pm on Wednesday, the Ministry of the Interior said on its website, adding that migrants continued crossing the border illegally.

Of the 892 migrants, 360 have been directed to the registration centre in Jezevo, just east of Zagreb. Preparations are under way to set up more registration centres and accommodation facilities, the ministry said.
Temporary accommodation is being arranged for asylum seekers who have been staying at Zagreb’s Porin hotel for a while. They will be transferred to the Reception Centre for Asylum Seekers in Kutina and the Porin hotel will from now on be used solely for the purpose of registration and accommodation of vulnerable migrants and potential asylum seekers.
Refugees have been arriving in Croatia by bus from Serbia since Wednesday morning after Hungary closed its border with Serbia.
