Dodik also defended the right to hold a referendum which he pushed in an attempt to challenge the authority of Bosnia’s national court over ethnic Serbs. He said that holding this referendum was lawful, despite claims of the international community that holding the referendum was in violation with the Dayton Agreement. (Hina)
Republika Srpska President Milorad Dodik has said Bosnia and Herzegovina cannot be built as a state by force, not even if the United States is behind it.
This was Dodik’s response to statements by U.S. diplomats who said that Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH) needed to amend the Dayton peace agreement and the constitution which stemmed from it so that it can carry out reforms that would lead it towards European Union membership.
