Hangzhou in China confirmed as host for 2022 Asian Games

– Hangzhou, capital city of east China’s Zhejiang province, was chosen on Wednesday to host the 2022 Asian Games.

Hangzhou was the only candidate city. The Olympic Council of Asia (OCA) made the decision to accept the city’s bid at its 34th congress in Ashkhabad, Turkmenistan, Xinhua news agency reported.

It will be the third time that the games will be held in a Chinese city after Beijing in 1990 and Guangzhou in 2010.

Beijing was selected by the International Olympic Committee to host the 2022 winter Olympic Games last month.
