Typhoon kills at least two in Taiwan, batters mainland China coast

The storm battered coastal Fujian with winds of up to 118 kmh before moving northwestward at a weakening speed of 20 kph, the Fujian Meteorological Service said.

The typhoon also brought gales, torrential rain and high waves to neighboring Zhejiang province where some tourism sites have temporarily closed, Xinhua reported.

Airports in the eastern cities of Xiamen, Quanzhou and Fuzhou canceled all flights on Tuesday, and around 85 trains that run through Fujian province were not operating.
