178,000 migrants have passed through Croatia since mid-Sept

A total of 178,050 migrants and refugees have been recorded entering Croatia since mid-September, and in the last 12 hours, 2,081 migrants entered the country on their way to western European countries, according to latest information released by the Croatian Interior Ministry.

The temporary reception centre in Opatovac near the Croatia-Serbia border, is currently catering for 1,520 people, and Croatia expects the continuation of an influx of migrants and refugees from Serbia.

Qatar’s Ambassador Sheikha Moza bint Nasser bin Ahmed Ali Al-Thani visited the Opatovac refugee reception centre in eastern Croatia on Wednesday.

On Thursday, Croatian Foreign Minister Vesna Pusic visited the centre.
