Deputy Tourism Minister Daglas Koraca met on Tuesday with representatives of Chinese tour operators from 22 cities in Zheijang province who are in Croatia to complete preparations for bringing larger tourist groups, the ministry said in a press release.
Twenty-six Chinese tour operators are visiting Croatia until Thursday, with stops in Zadar, Krka National Park, Skradin, Sibenik, Split, Dubrovnik and Konavle, from where they will go to Montenegro.
The visit was organised by the Chinese Southeast European Business Association.
Given the potential of the Chinese market, we wish to establish stronger cooperation and attract more tourists, said Koraca. China has now replaced Germany as the country whose citizens travel the most and is a very interesting market to Croatia, which can offer a lot outside the summer months as well, when Chinese tourists travel to Europe, he added.
He said more than 150,000 Chinese tourists visited Croatia this year, generating 200,000 nights.
