Nearly 170,000 migrants have entered Croatia since mid-September

A total of 3,640 migrants entered Croatia between midnight and 3pm on Tuesday, bringing the number of migrants that had entered the country since mid-September to 169,509, the Ministry of the Interior said on its website.

Currently, 1,969 migrants are staying at the Opatovac reception centre in eastern Croatia, and more are expected to come from Serbia, the ministry said.

Migrants are taken by train or by bus to border crossings with Hungary from where they continue their journey to their desired destinations in western and northern Europe. (Hina)
