Crowds sing happy birthday for Prince Charles

Sydney (dpa) – A crowd of 100 people welcomed Prince Charles and Camilla to the West Australian town of Albany Saturday with a rendition of Happy Birthday.

Dressed in a bone-coloured suit while Camilla was in white to go with the 38-degree-Celsius heat – Prince Charles laughed and waved at the recognition of his turning 67.

The Royal couple visited an orchard, winery and kitchen gardens before inspecting a new war museum marking the spot where troops left Australia for the First World War.

In the afternoon Charles will be given a birthday beach barbecue at Perth’s Cottesloe Beach.
