An explosive device was thrown at a police station in Zavidovici, central Bosnia-Herzegovina, in the night between Monday and Tuesday, and this incident is believed to have been a terrorist attack, police sources said on Tuesday morning.

“There are indications that this case contains elements of the criminal offence of terrorism,” the local police said in a statement. Therefore, the Office of the Chief State Prosecutor has taken over an investigation into the case, the local police authorities said.

According to available information, the explosive device was thrown at the roof of the police station’s annexe building housing offices for issuing personal identification documents.

No one was injured, and the size material damage is being estimated.

Last week, radical Islamist Enes Omeragic killed two soldiers in a shooting spree at a betting shop.
