At least 20 people were killed in a bus accident in Nepal’s north-east Tuesday, authorities said.
According to the Rasuwa district office, the bus veered off the road and fell 150 metres downhill.
Twenty people died and 45 were injured, Rasuwa Chief District Officer Shivaram Gelal said.
Police said they were searching for any other passengers, although the total number on board was not known.
The bus was packed and many of the passengers were sat on the roof, the district office said.
The closure of Nepal’s border with India due to political unrest has caused a deep fuel crisis in the country, causing people to travel in riskier conditions in an effort to save fuel.
