Croatia’s president to visit Slovakia next week


Croatian President Kolinda Grabar-Kitarovic will pay an official visit to Slovakia on 9-10 December at the invitation of her Slovak counterpart Andrej Kiska, President Grabar-Kitarovic’s office stated in a press release.

During her stay in Bratislava, the Croatian president will also hold talks with Prime Minister Robert Fico and Parliament Speaker Peter Pellegrini on bilateral relations with an emphasis on the Slovakia-Croatia economic cooperation and the status of their respective minorities.

Some of the topics will be the cooperation within the Visegrad Group, the “Adriatic-Baltic-Black Sea” initiative and Slovakia’s chairmanship of the European Union in the second half of 2016.

Grabar-Kitarovic is due to visit the cities of Trnava and Banska Bystrica, where she will held a lecture at Matej Bel University which will award her an honorary doctorate.
