The president of the Croatian Democratic Union (HDZ), Tomislav Karamarko, will meet Bridge reformist party chief Bozo Petrov in the southern Croatian region of Dalmatia on Friday afternoon, Hina learnt unofficially from HDZ sources on Friday morning.
The exact time or the location of the meeting is not yet known.
On Thursday, Bridge tweeted on its official Twitter account that representatives of the HDZ-led patriotic Coalition will meet representatives of Bridge in Dalatia on Friday afternoon, to additionally harmonise their positions.
After a failed attempt to inaugurate the new parliament, Bridge has called leaders of the HDZ-led and the SDP-led coalitions for a meeting on Monday, 7 December, starting at noon. Bridge said that it would continue to insist on its demands.
In the event that only one of the two blocs appears at the scheduled meeting, Bridge will resume negotiations with that side on forming a reformist government, according to a press release issued by Bridge.
Bridge said it would be at the disposal to either bloc if they preferred an earlier meeting in order to find a quick and effective solution to the current situation.
Bridge said that only the SDP (Social Democratic Party) and the HDZ (Croatian Democratic Union) should be held responsible if a new election was called.
The HDZ said on Thursday afternoon that it would have to consult its partners in the Patriotic Coalition before deciding on Bridge’s proposal for a joint meeting on Monday. The SDP said that the centre-left Croatia Is Growing coalition accepted the invitation by the Bridge reformist party to meet on Monday as part of talks on the formation of government.
