Defence minister holds video conference with Croatian troops abroad

Defence Minister Josip Buljevic on Thursday held a video conference with members of the Croatian Armed Forces deployed in operations and missions worldwide.

Contingent commanders briefed the new minister of the current situation in the areas where Croatian troops are being deployed, the defence ministry said in a statement. Minister Buljevic conveyed the greetings of President Kolinda Grabar-Kitarovic and Prime Minister Tihomir Oreskovic.

The minister also held talks with Croatian Armed Forces Chief of Staff, General Drago Lovric.

Croatia’s contingents are in six missions: NATO-led Resolute Support in Afghanistan, NATO-led Kosovo Force (KFOR), United Nations mission in India – Pakistan (UNMOGIP), United Nations Mission for the Referendum in Western Sahara (MINURSO), United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon (UNIFIL) and in EU-led EUNAVFOR Somalia also known as Operation Atalanta.
