Spokesman for the Bridge party Nikola Grmoja said on Wednesday, after a news conference held by outgoing Interior Minister Ranko Ostojic, that Ostojic was very nervous and that he was speaking inappropriately for a minister.

“He is speaking inappropriately for a minister and inviting Bozo Petrov to a face off, although I have said that I have indications that Petrov had been tapped. If Mr Ostojic wants a face off, I am ready. I have publicly proposed the location, the place where reporters can record the prime minister and defence minister of a NATO country freely…” Grmoja told Hina.
Commenting on Ostojic’s claims that Petrov had not been tapped, Grmoja said he had entirely expected such a reaction.
“His nervous reaction proves that my suspicions are justified and I expect the parliamentary committee and other institutions to look into everything. Of course they will claim that nothing had happened, as has been the case all these years. Not a single parliamentary committee nor internal affairs bodies had every established any irregularities, although politicians had informed them about their suspicions that they were being tapped,” Grmoja said.
Earlier today at the news conference, Ostojic wondered how did Grmoja know for ten days already that the parliamentary committee for interior policy and national security received a note about the surveillance of Most chief Petrov. Grmoja explained to Hina that he had received the information from a man whose name he did not wish to reveal so as to spare him the awkward situations.
Because of everything that had happened in the negotiations with the Social Democratic Party (SDP) and the Croatian Democratic Union (HDZ), Brudge had requested the civil monitoring of such services, Grmoja said.
“It is interesting that both the HDZ and the SDP had refused that,” Gmoja stressed.
