Bridge parliamentary deputy Ivan Kovacic said on Monday he expected Prime Minister designate Tihomir Oreskovic to send his opinion to the Bridge party about their candidates for ministerial positions, which the party’s National Council is scheduled to discuss on Tuesday and all proposal will be known by Wednesday.
“The ministers have not yet been named, Bridge candidates only held talks with the Prime Minister designate and we are expecting to receive feedback tomorrow at the National Council session where we shall further discuss it. I believe that all proposals for the ministerial positions should be announced by Wednesday,” Kovacic told the press in parliament.
He declined to reveal the names of candidates who held talks with the PM designate, adding however that none of the candidates had been confirmed as future ministers.
Kovacic confirmed that at Monday’s session of representatives of parliamentary groups it was agreed that a debate on the appointment of prime minister and ministers in his cabinet, scheduled for Friday, would not be limited only to the parliamentary groups, stressing that every deputy would be able to take part in the discussion.
He expressed hope that deputies would not stall the debate and that not all 151 would ask to speak, adding that a vote on the new government would take place before the expiration of the 30-day deadline which President Kolinda Grabar-Kitarovic gave PM-designate Oreskovic.
