Serbian Labour and Social Affairs Minister Aleksandar Vulin has said that his country would no longer accept migrants who might be returned from Slovenia and Croatia, insisting that as soon as those two countries allowed migrants to cross into their territory, they also assume responsibility for caring for those people.

Vulin made this statement on Wednesday being prompted by the return of 217 refugees from Croatia to Serbia on Tuesday evening, after they were not allowed by Slovenia to cross into its territory.

He said that the new measures for managing the migrant crisis would be on the agenda of Thursday’s meeting of police directors from the countries in the region that lie on the route used by west Europe-bound migrants from the Middle East and north Africa.
