Tourism Minister Anton Kliman announced in Split on Tuesday that an action plan was being prepared with the aim of utilising unpromising military facilities for tourism development, adding that he advocated removing obstacles to efficient business activities in the tourism sector.
We will prepare an action plan so that unpromising military facilities could be transformed into tourism investments, Kliman told reporters.
After a meeting with Kliman and the county’s tourism stakeholders, County Prefect Zlatko Zevrnja said that talks focused on exploiting unpromising military property.
The conversion of military facilities and land for tourism purposes is going very slowly and it is necessary to do everything possible for that process to be more efficient to facilitate new investments in tourism,” Zevrnja said.
Kliman promised that his ministry would work in cooperation with other ministers to undertake efforts to develop tourism investments in the county and the city of Split. He added that additional efforts would be invested in promoting Croatia’s tourism particularly in Great Britain, Scandinavia, Benelux countries and Russia.
