Immediately after the music legend David Bowie’s death, Brian Rašić’s phone in London didn’t stop ringing with condolences of respect by many for Bowie himself and his work. The world press continues to publish Brian’s photographs, while the visualization of audio recordings is peaking.
This exhibition is a multimedia story about David Bowie through the eye of a camera by a master photographer, a great admirer and follower of Rock’n’Roll and a man who spent over two decades, precisely from 1983 to 2005, shooting David Bowie.
A role of a photographer in a visual communication with one of the world’s greatest music performers has a powerful potential for uncovering the mystery of a very complex nature called David Bowie.

If a term ‘a music photographer’ existed, Brian would certainly be its archetype. He has been living and working in London for over three decades and travelled all over the world.
Apart from the epithets/ sobriquets he is so fond of, primarily as a personal photographer to the biggest rock’n’roll band in the world, The Rolling Stones, Brian likes to say that he is ‘photo objective’, meaning that he cooperates with the musicians from most diverse genres. In many ways his archive represents a ‘micro history of music’ – from Muddy Waters to Chuck Berry, the founder of rock’n’roll, to more or less all the leading pop bands and solo musicians, all the way to Frank Sinatra. From Dolly Parton in Country, Metallic in heavy metal or Robbie Williams in pop, from Blondie and Kate Bush to Beyoncé, Rihanna and Miley Cyrus, Rod Stewart or Bruce Springsteen, Muse or Coldplay – Brian had them all in front of his camera – whether they were famous or just starting.
He’s been shooting The Rolling Stones since early ’80. David Bowie engaged him for his last performances and David Gilmour (Pink Floyd) for the promotion and concerts for the ‘On the Island’ album.
The exhibition opens on February 2nd.
