For the second year in row Advent in Zagreb won the title of ‘Best Christmas Market in Europe’. Christmas and New festivities had officially ended on 8 January, and over the past 6 weeks 120,000 tourists visited the capital during Advent.
According to the Zagreb Tourist Board, those tourists created 230,000 overnight stays, which is a 50% increase compared to the same period last year.
Moreover, tourists visiting the capital during Advent are staying longer, with a 2-day stay now the average.
A month and a half of holiday fun included the popular Ice Park on Tomislav Square and other Advent festivities around the city, Croatia Music Week with Armin van Burren and the skiing World Cup races.
Because of the good results this year, the Ice Park and the rink at Tomislav Square will be open for another week – until 15 January.
