The remains of one person were found on Tuesday in Bogdanovci near Vukovar during excavation works on the construction of drainage systems, confirmed Vukovar-Srijem police.

According to Maja Barbarić from the Vukovar-Srijem Police Administration (PU), the body is buried at a depth of about 150 centimeters, and it is assumed to be the remains of the Homeland War. She also added that the exhumation would be carried out next week.

The Bodanovci are only a few kilometers from Vukovar and until the occupation of that town alone, the village could go out and enter the enclosed Vukovar. In the Homeland War, 89 villagers and 41 were killed by the National Guard (ZNG), the Croatian Defense Forces (HOS) and the police. There are still 25 people on the list of missing people.
