The number of asylum seekers in Germany this year exceeded one million, the Bavarian Minister of Social Welfare said on Tuesday.
The total number of asylum seekers registered in the computer system was more than a million, since only in November they were registered with 200.000, Emilia Mueller said.
This number exceeded earlier estimates by Federal Minister of Interior Thomas de Maizier on 800.000 asylum seekers in 2015.
Germany has received more asylum seekers than any other EU member.
Following the release of the latest data, Mueller has suggested that Germany restrict their ability to "no longer handle such inflow".
