With the rapid reaction of firefighters, but also with luck, at the beginning of the week, major accidents were prevented in the very center of Zagreb, when gas bombs that "started" heavy stoves and cooks in the adventh homes caused gas to ignite from the defective valves of these bottles .
Last week, firefighters intervened twice in the center of Zagreb for gas bottles. In both cases, it was the same problem - the ignition of gas that had run out of the bottle. On Saturday incident occurred in the central city square, not far from the clock - when there were a lot of people there. It also happened on Monday in Prague, in the courtyard of the building, where an auxiliary facility was set up in one of the adventh homes, boiling many irresistible bunnies (swine flippers).
In order to prevent such incidents and even potential major accidents - INA, which supplies bulk gas bottles from its bottling booths, says that it is necessary to strictly comply with the Ordinance on liquefied petroleum gas but that every user is responsible for proper holding and the use of gas bottle.
- The Ordinance on liquefied petroleum gas stipulates the holding and storing of LPG in bottles. Consequently, up to three bottles of filling capacity up to 10 kg can be kept in households, while only one bottle of filling capacity up to 10 kg can be used in the room where the cooking or heating unit is located. Furthermore, in business premises up to 30 m3 only one bottle of filling capacity up to 10 kg can be retained and in business premises with a volume greater than 30 m3 on each of the following 30 m3 Volume is allowed per bottle capacity up to 10 kg of filling. Bottles must not be kept in rooms lower than the level of the surrounding terrain, and in the space where bottles are stored, air must be ensured. It should be borne in mind that bottles should not be kept in places where they can be heated above 40 o C.
Bottles must only be used for the purpose for which they are actually intended, ie they are not allowed to use bottles intended for the liquid phase (TF).
Keep the gas bottle in the upright position and always close the valve after each use. When changing the gas bottle, it is extremely important to check the correctness and impermeability of all the elements from bottle to expiration. The highest number of incidents is caused by incorrect waste, rubber tubes or regulators, and due to failure to check for leakage after the new gas bottle is connected.
We would like to note that gas bottles and all its parts are made of non-combustible material and it is impossible for the "bottle burning". Leakage may occur due to uncontrolled leakage of LPG into the air and if near the ignition source, the ignition of the LPG occurs. In that case, the best thing to do is close the DHW inlet, so close the gas valve. Since there is almost no explosion of bottles, but when an explosion comes when exhaust gas blends with the air and creates an explosive mixture ignited by sparks or other forms of heat, it is impossible to determine the intensity and scale of the explosion. The intensity of the explosion, i.e. the heat exchanger and the pressure energy depend on the quantity of vaporous gas that exits the air or the oxygen with which it is mixed, of course, by the volume of space in which the leakage occurs.
The user is responsible for proper handling and use of gas bottles. The technical validity of all bottles was verified in accordance with the positive regulations of the Republic of Croatia when it came to filling the gas bottles. After filling the bottle passes check of the charge and the leakproofness and as the correct outlet from the gas filling plant - they said from INA for the Dalje.com portal
The Advent of Zagreb is again the most beautiful in Europe. The number of tourists is growing daily, according to the Zagreb Tourist Board data, in the first ten days it was visited by more foreign and domestic guests than last year. We hope that the beautiful pictures of Zagreb that visit the world will no longer spoil the ugly incidents with flammable gas bottles. It is therefore necessary to keep very simple rules of handling with them - and that is it!
