The "Ulro Country" exhibition will be open on Monday, 20. 03. 2017. in 20 hours at the Greta Gallery, Ilica 92, Zagreb.
"Country Ulro" is a joint project of three artists; Rimantasa Plunge, which operates in Kaunas in Lithuania, David Škerlja, which operates in Trieste and Josip Zankija, operating in Zagreb. The project is based on a common reading of Ulrich's utopian space. The concept of the Earth Ulro was created within the imagination of William Blake. Ulro, the kingdom of god Urizena represents the place of living dead, idols and miraculous illusions.
Czesław Miłosz, in his book Ulr Earth, recognized this imaginary space in real places outside the national and political narratives, and overlapping the influences of different cultural contexts. The mythical space of the Ulro Earth is recognized in the "uninterrupted history" of magical territories such as Trieste and Lithuania. We see it in the model of the Utopian Hasidic State in the Galicia, Belarus, Poland and Baltic countries. Rimantas Plunge is represented by a series of photo collages today, the dreams and no dreams created by 2017. year review of Miroslav's work. David Škerlj is represented by video work of 2 points of view from Novak to Grujic from 2014. year based on the reinterpretation of Andrićeva Na Drini ćuprija. Josip Zanki for the first time exhibits a series of illumination of Earth Ulro from 2015. years of the ethnographic research of the world of symbols. At the exhibition at the Greta Rimantas Plunge Gallery, David Škerlj and Josip Zanki perform together for the first time.
The exhibition is open until 25. 03. in working hours of the gallery from 17 to 20 hours.
