The sporting part of the program has begun since the 9.30 hours when the first competition teams in the European Square began with tournaments in athletics and bartenders. More than a thousand children from elementary schools from Zagreb competed for placement on the state final in Savudrija. The ceremonial ceremony and the direct transfer to the Sport Club Television started with a fervent fan-like atmosphere that was enhanced by the concert by Zapresic Boysi to more than 8.000 children and young people from 16 cities throughout Croatia. The leaders of Doris Pinčić Rogoznica and Silvano Gospodarić participated in the stress of commenting on the competition and started the opening ceremony after the hymn of the Republic of Croatia, conducted by Mirko Švenda-Žiga.
Games were solemnly opened by the envoy of Prime Minister Davor Božinović, Interior Minister Krešimir Samija, Deputy State Secretary of the Central State Sports Office, Sándor Fasimon, President of Ina, Sponsor of the Opening Ceremony and Zdravko Maric, President of the Sports Games of Youth. In addition to the sporting part of the competition, all the gathered people have received numerous surprises and educational activities in cooperation with the Ministry of Interior and the National Road Safety Program. Plasma Sports Games are the youngest amateur event in Europe that enables children to try out 10 sports: Coca-Cola Cup Football, Soccer, Kinder Basketball, HEP Handball Tournament, Volleyball, Croatian Post Cup Tennis, Table Tennis , HPB beach volleyball tournament, chess, bartender and athletics. This year, all records fell by the number of competitors and participants.
The project leader of the Plasma Sports Games of Youth Zdravko Maric pointed out: "We are indeed the largest European event, and we plan to expand to another country outside the region in the summer, and with the help of all the media, sponsors of this ambassador, to succeed. Our biggest advertising is that children talk about the Games with each other and although applications are still in progress, we will surely cross the figure from last year when we gathered more than 170 thousands of contestants. "
The strength of the Games is precisely its participants, primary and secondary school students from across the region, over one million and five hundred athletes who felt in 23 years what they are sports, socializing and fun. Plasma Sporting youth games for children and young people in all counties across Croatia offer the possibility of free participation in competitions, and the most successful individuals and teams are provided with free mini summer vacations as state finalists in Savudrija and Split. The crown of each season is the Great International Finals in Split, gathering more than a thousand small athletes from Bosnia and Herzegovina, Serbia and Croatia.
Plasma Sports games are not only recognized in host countries. They were organized under the auspices of the International Olympic Committee and the support of the European Commission, with the help of Mr. Tibor Navracsic, Education, Culture and Sports Commissioner and the new Ambassador of the Games, Mr. Johannes Hahn, Commissioner for European Neighborhood Policy and Enlargement Negotiations.
